EMD Engine Technology in Defense Applications

In the defense industry, operational readiness is not optional—it is mandatory. AB DEFENCE stands as a premier solution partner and global supplier for Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD) engines utilized in naval fleets and military infrastructure. We bridge the gap between legacy engineering and modern operational demands, ensuring your assets remain reliable, efficient, and ready for deployment.

EMD two-stroke diesel engines are the backbone of heavy-duty military operations due to their rapid response and durability. We support:

1. Naval Propulsion & Auxiliaries The EMD 645 and 710 series are widely used in naval auxiliary ships, tugs, and patrol vessels. Their low weight-to-power ratio makes them ideal for:

• Amphibious Assault Ships & LSTs

• Salvage and Rescue Ships

• Coast Guard Cutters

2. Strategic Power Generation Reliable electricity is the lifeline of command centers and field hospitals. EMD engines serve as robust prime movers for:

• Mobile Power Units

• Emergency Backup Generators (Base Infrastructure)

• Radar Station Power Supply

AB DEFENCE offers a comprehensive range of spare parts and maintenance kits for EMD engines, ensuring minimal downtime for critical equipment.

• Power Assemblies: Complete cylinder packs (Liners, Pistons, Rods) for rapid overhaul.

• Fuel Systems: Unit injectors, fuel pumps, and governance systems optimized for military-grade fuel.

• Turbochargers & Blowers: High-performance air systems for EMD 645/710 turbocharged engines.
